Krystle Koziczynski (WERQ)
Born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, I fell in love with dance as a child even though I didn’t grow up dancing at a studio. I loved creating dance routines at home with my cousins and friends to perform for our families. The love led me to join the dance team in junior high (6-8 grades) and made the JV Pom squad my freshman year of high school. I took some time off from dance to focus on school and swimming until I got to college, when I realized how much I missed dancing. Spent my last 3 years of college on the Benedictine University dance team and knew after graduation that I needed to find a way to keep dancing when I wasn’t working at my full time job.
After joining a local gym in 2012 with my fiancée (now husband), I found Zumba and I fell in love with dance all over again but in a new way. Dance fitness became an important part of my life and I quickly went from a back row student to becoming a Zumba certified instructor, leading my own classes. I loved the Latin beats but craved more which led me to discover other formats/styles including LaBlast (ballroom inspired), BollyX (Bollywood) and WERQ (pop and hip hop). Before I knew it, I was teaching multiple different dance fitness classes after my day job almost every day of the week for 5 years. Between Covid and a job relocation from Chicago to Indy, I took time off to focus on my two small kiddos while we adjusted to our new life in Indiana.
Fast forward to 2025, finally feeling settled into our new routine, I found Dance Fam and knew it was exactly what I needed in my life. I took a few classes and it just felt like home. The people, the movement, the vibes, it was everything! When Jaelynn was looking to add dance fitness to the schedule, it was like the stars aligned. I’m so excited to get back into the studio and WERQ with everyone!
